Named after their grandmother Juana, the farm reflects a legacy of strong women, agricultural knowledge, and deep community ties. The land itself holds layers of history - near the sacred slopes of Cerro Icchal, where ancient cultures once worshipped the god Catequil, remnants of ceremonial centers still remain. It’s a place where tradition, ancestry, and daily life all share the same soil. With a few well-tended hectares, the family grows food for self-sufficiency, shares resources with neighbors, and maintains a rhythm of life that blends daily work with care for one another and the environment. Their approach is simple, grounded, and full of heart. We’re proud to have them as part of the WWOOF network. For those who spend time here, there’s a chance to learn about rural Peruvian life firsthand - helping with planting, animal care, food prep, and even supporting local education efforts - all while being welcomed into a truly generous home.
